Take A Chance On Me...

Does this type of conversation come up frequently for you? Someone refusing to do something because they don't like it after you've tried your hardest to persuade them. Yet when you ask them the amount of times they've actually done that thing, after avoiding the question they eventually confess they've never done it before. However, they're still adamant they wouldn't enjoy it! This type of reaction comes up all the time with food, in particular food that's good for you. 

It's important to note that eating healthily involves trying out new things every once in a while. A lot of people are stuck in their ways and will only eat what they're used to, while complaining they're still overweight. If you think about it logically, if you do what you've always done and expect different results, you're not going to get anywhere. 

Sometimes a gentle reminder that everything we currently eat was, at one point in time, a completely new experience. This can sometimes be enough to get someone to try something new.

Now, don't feel like you have to like everything you try. In fact, you probably won't. But, you’ll never know if you like something until you actually try it. This is even more true for dishes from other countries. It may have a different presentation, but millions of people eat it regularly, so it's obviously edible. Taking a leap of faith and trying something different won't kill you, so why not try something new every week and surprise yourself with how many times you discover an amazing new cuisine?
